Dass ich wie die Jungfrau zu meinen Blogbeiträge komme, habe ich hier schon öfter geschrieben. Bei den köstlichen Taibergdosen war das zum Beispiel so.
Mal wieder so ein Instagram-Fund
Dieses Mal bin ich nicht während eines Flohmarkts über einen Trail gestolpert, sondern während des Scrollens habe ich No Coffee entdeckt. Wie immer abends meinen Instafeed gecheckt, war da plötzlich eine Anzeige, die mich angesprochen hat: die von No Coffee. Ich liebe meine kleine, kompakte Delonghimaschine und wenn ich den ganzen Tag Zuhause verbringe, kann es schon mal passieren, dass ich vier bis fünf Tassen Lavazza-Kaffee mit einem Schluck (Hafer-)Milch verputze.
Lupinenkaffee als Alternative?
Vor ein paar Monaten bin ich auf Lupinenkaffee aufmerksam geworden und war kurz davor, ihn bei Amazon zu bestellen. Als ich hörte dass er schmecke, wie Carokaffee, habe ich von meinem Vorhaben Abstand genommen. Zwar mag ich den Geschmack, doch das stellt für mich keine echte Kaffeealternative dar.
Die kritische Tante
No Coffee richtet sich vor allem auch an Schwangere, Herzkranke and so on, die aus gesundheitlichen Gründen keinen koffeinierten Kaffee trinken dürfen. Zu dieser Gruppe zähle ich zwar nicht, hatte aber trotzdem Lust, diese Alternative zu probieren. Meine Lieblingstante konnte das nicht nachvollziehen: „Oh neee, entweder trinke ich echten Kaffee, oder gar keinen, ich verstehe nicht, was diese Ersatzprodukte sollen!“. Dachte ich mir bislang auch, bin jetzt doch froh, mich auf No Coffee eingelassen zu haben.
Großer Preis, kleine Verpackung
Der Preis ist – für meinen Geschmack – stolz: 9,90 Euro für 250 Gramm entkoffeinierten Kaffee, gemahlen oder ganze Bohne … as you like. Aber so ist das wohl mit den Startups die nachhaltige Produkte anbieten. Ich habe trotzdem eine Packung Decaf Espresso bestellt, die schon nach zwei Tagen in einem kleinen Paket ankam. Das hat mir gut gefallen, der heutige Verpackungswahnsinn der einem manchmal entgegen schlägt, ist ja bisweilen Wahnsinn; mini Artikel in XXL-Paketen. Eine neue Studie zeigt, dass jeder von uns durchschnittlich über 220 Kilo Verpackungen pro Jahr verbraucht. Nicht so mit No Espresso – den Gründern Marcus Intek und Andreas Kühn scheint es wichtig zu sein, beim Verpackungsmaterial fair zu sein …. der Karton ist so klein, dass kaum etwas anderes als die Kaffeetüte hinein passt – finde ich super. Das Design ist minimalistisch; einzig der Claim und das Logo haben es auf die Tüte geschafft. Der Kaffee ist, wie in Röstereien, vakuumiert verpackt.
Obwohl ich noch eine halbe Packung Lavazza in meiner Kaffeedose habe, öffne ich den No Coffee direkt weil ich so gespannt bin, wie er schmeckt. Erstmal wird es spannend: Verträgt er sich mit meiner Delonghi Siebträgermaschine oder ist er zu grob gemahlen? Glücklicherweise läuft das Wasser beziehungsweise der Kaffee durch wie eine eins. Einen Schluck Hafermilch dazu gegeben, setze ich mich auf den Balkon und schlürfe genüsslich. Herrlich! No Coffee schmeckt wie echter Coffee und stellt eine perfekte Alternative zu anderen Varianten her. Die postulierten 100% echter Geschmack und 100 % echter Kaffee scheinen korrekt zu sein.
Das Geheimnis hinter No Coffee
Wie bekommen die Gründer das hin? Indem sie ihren Kaffee nur mit Wasser entkoffeinieren. Darauf komme es ihrer Meinung nach an: Auf Koffein könnte man getrost verzichten, aber auf echten, vollen Kaffeegeschmack auf gar keinen Fall.
Das Rezept dahinter ist wie gesagt denkbar einfach: Anders als die meisten entkoffeinieren die Jungs nicht mit Chemiekeulen, sondern ausschließlich mit Wasser …. Geheimrezept à la Mutter Natur.
