Nach meinem Beitrag über die hinreißende Lara und ihr phänomenales GURU Granola hagelte es viel positives Feedback – auch von Fremden. Mit dabei und voller Begeisterung: Dorothee Dahl, ihres Zeichens Kräuteraddict, die letztes Jahr ein erstaunliches Buch veröffentlicht hat. Zwar habe ich ein Mal eine Kräuterwanderung in Köln mitgemacht, doch richtig Blut lecken konnte ich dabei nicht. Mit Doros Bibel gelingt dies aber umso mehr – ihr Buch „Wilde Feuerkräuter“ macht Lust, Laune und liefert wertvollen Input.
Per Insta Sprachnachrichten hat sie mir angeboten, mir das Buch zu schicken. Meine Erwartungshaltung war eher niedrig …. Kräuterbibel halt, wohlmöglich in alter Schrift, umso größer dann die Freude und Überraschung. Ihre ausgefeilte Kräuterbibel kommt regelrecht sexy daher – dies vor allem dank der ästhetischen Fotos von der renommierten Foodbloggerin Janine Hegender, der ihr bei www.nutsandblueberries.de folgen könnt. Die Bilder der hübsch angerichteten Kräuter-, Obst- und Gemüsedrinks in ansprechenden Gläsern und Flaschen machen richtig was her. Und das Auge isst und trinkt ja bekanntlich mit. Mich hat das Buch sofort gecatcht; nicht nur die Bilder, auch die Haptik ist schön und das Inhaltsverzeichnis gut strukturiert und viel versprechend.
Doro nimmt ihre Leser mit auf eine Kräutersafari: Unter der Überschrift „wild, feurig und heilsam“ erklärt sie strukturiert, wie man Pflanzenkraft richtig nutzt. Im Anschluss geht sie über zum „Zaubertrank aus Honig und Essig“: Oxymel. Was ist das und wie wirkt es? Wie stellt man es her? Sie liefert einige Rezepte für den Powertrunk bevor sie das Nonplusultra vorstellt: den Fire Cider. Schon auf Seite 54 angekommen, erklärt sie dass Firecider Asterix und Obelix befähigt, Hinkelsteine zu tragen und das Getränk optimal ist zur Vorbeugung von Erkältungen und Grippe. Es ist wärmend, entzündungshemmend und stärkend – kein Wunder, sind doch Meerrettich, Ingwer, Kurkuma, Chili, Zwiebeln, Orangen und Zitronen darin, angereichert mit Rosmarin, Thymian, Enchinaceawurzel, Anisysop, Pfeffer, Sternanis, Zimt, Akazienhonig und Apfelessig. Also mir persönlich läuft beim Lesen der Zutaten das Wasser im Mund zusammen. Angemacht in einem hübschen Glas sieht das Ganze dann so aus:
Schmackofatz, das werde ich bald mal nachzaubern!
Das nächste Kapitel widmet sich Erfrischungen für den Alltag: Wasserkefir, Kombucha und Tepache …. hier gibts sogar die festliche Variante – statt Champagner. Und wenn’s mal schnell gehen muss: Die Ruck-zuck-Kräuterlimonade. Sie besteht aus Sprudelwasser, zwei grünen Äpfeln, zwei Limetten, fünf Zweigen Zitronenmelisse und zwei Zweigen Minze. Stelle ich mir als Erfrischungsgetränk, gerade im Sommer, herrlich vor. Und klingt, als würde es wirklich schnell gehen. Für’s Wohlfühlen in jeder Lebenslage kommt Doro als nächstes zu den Kräutertees, bevor sie übergeht zu Tinkturen. Im Anschluss folgen Tipps: Bock, selber Kräuterexperte zu werden? Sodann folgt ein eindrucksvoller Blick in Doros Kräutergarten, hier wächst und wuchert wirklich allerhand und man bekommt direkt Lust, mit der Autorin durch ihr kleines Paradies zu schlendern.
„Wilde Feuerkräuter“ ist eine Bibel für alle, die sich bereits mit Kräutern befassen und ein geniales How To für Neueinsteiger. Einfach und trotzdem wirklich nett geschrieben, haptisch vorzüglich und mit tollen Fotos angereichert, macht das Werk richtig Spaß.
